1. Pre-Operation Protective Preparation Operators must wear full protective gear: - Wear impact-resistant goggles to prevent eye injury from grinding debris and wheel fragments; - Wear dust masks to avoid inhaling metal and abrasive dust; Wear cut-resistant gloves on hands and form-fitting, abrasion-resistant protective clothing on the body. Tuck in sleeves and pant legs securely. Do not wear scarves, bracelets, or other items prone to entanglement. Long hair must be secured inside the safety helmet. Simultaneously, clear the work area, remove unrelated items from the vicinity, and set up safety warning signs to prevent unauthorized personnel from approaching.
2. Grinding Operation Requirements
Start at matched speed: Strictly set equipment parameters to the rated speed indicated on the grinding wheel. Never increase speed arbitrarily to prevent excessive centrifugal force causing wheel fracture.
Maintain correct grinding angle: Keep the grinding wheel at a 15°-30° angle to the workpiece surface. Use light pressure and slow grinding. Avoid forceful pressure to prevent sudden stress fractures.
Avoid Hazardous Operations: Do not grind using the side of the grinding wheel (except for specialized side-grinding wheels), as lateral force can cause breakage. Do not grind workpieces beyond the wheel's specified capabilities, such as materials with hardness far exceeding the abrasive's tolerance. Avoid prolonged continuous grinding at a single location to prevent localized overheating, which can dull the wheel or anneal the workpiece. Apply coolant as needed to reduce temperature.
Real-time monitoring: Continuously observe the grinding wheel's operation during use. Immediately stop the machine and inspect if abnormal noises, severe vibration, or excessive abrasive loss occur. Resume operation only after troubleshooting.
3. Post-use procedures
After completing the task, first turn off the equipment power. Wait until the grinding wheel has completely stopped rotating before cleaning metal debris, dust, and other contaminants from the work area.
Inspect the grinding wheel for wear. Replace it immediately if the effective grinding layer is worn to within 10mm of the flange edge, or if clogging, damage, or other issues are present.
Properly dispose of removed, worn grinding wheels. Do not discard them carelessly to avoid creating safety hazards.
